Gorgeous venue, great company and new kit! What a day!

As the weather was on our side and I had been itching to test my new Olympus micro 4/3rds 60mm macro lens Steve a good friend and I headed to Sezincote Gardens

After arriving in the car park and heading down the hill towards the entrance it wasn’t long before we were met by the sweet fragrance coming from several flowers in full bloom, this garden is not only a vision and perfect Wedding venue but the smells are beautiful. The gardens are very well kept with hidden Indian style gems and even a wedding car beautifully kitted out in this style.

ImageImageImageImageImageThe well planted gardens, the water features and the orangery are all features fit for a lovely wedding venue but theres more, hidden are little treats like the photo to follow, hidden under a bridge and mid water are stepping stones, leading to directly under the bridge where an ornate stone seat has been placed, I imagine any bride who can keep her dress up out of the water would photograph beautifully seated in this tranquil area of beauty. Or should the masses of material used in some dresses deem this an impossibility, a quiet intimate portrait of a happy couple after the event.

Now I have never been a fan of the small crawlies, if they sting I’m outa here! So for me to attempt the macro photography I admire so much of insects had me all of a dither! still as much as the following shots are by no means stunners, I think they show beautifully just how well the 60mm micro 4/3rds macro lens works, Its crisp and beautiful with some stunning Bokeh, I am so pleased to have changed from heavy dslr’s, I know I have mentioned this, but us photographers spend such a long time training to make sure we can deliver beautiful work, our kit is also an important investment. Simply buying a wonderful  camera wont an artist make you, similarly a scalpel wont make you a surgeon however, if we take a surgeon, also trained in his vocation, for example I for one would like to be operated on with precision tools, sharp and sterile that can be used with accuracy and confidence and not any old  rusty spoon!

Bad analogy but you get the point …..I hope! x

Now the pesky flying stingy things!

ImageImageAnd for the sake of my nerves, and of course to show off the lens some flowers, not stingy!
